Adam Ginsberg and the American Idol Finals Part 1

Okay I admit it, I’m an American Idol fan – and I’ve been a fan since the first season. I look forward to the auditions each year and love the top 12, which is really when the season begins. This year, while everyone has said this is the most talented American Idol group ever I’ve had to disagree to a point.  I do think, if Adam Lambert was not on the show, this commentary might be true. However, this season Adam Lambert has been the runaway favorite. After 8 seasons I’ve gotten good at predicting the top five finalists, as many long time Idol observers have…but this year Adam Lambert being in the final was an obvious choice. Each week there was the “top group” and then there was Adam – really in a league of...

Adam Ginsberg Angels & Demons Movie Review

Friday night I went to see the movie Angeles & Demons. To be fair to everyone who as read the book – I did not. I’m also one of the few people on the planet who did not read the Da Vinci Code – nor did I see the Da Vinci Code movie. I like Tom Hanks and I like Ron Howard – and I lover suspense thrillers, so it was based on this that I decided to see the movie. I found the movie entertaining – and I think as long as the movie is viewed as a religious thriller and not a religious film – it’s enjoyable. Angels & Demons has a number of things going for it: Tom Hanks, although in a role a found not believable, had great chemistry with Ayelet Zurer.  I also found there was some good humor. It was just difficult to see...

Oprah joined twitter last month and had both Ashton and the founder of Twitter on her show.  Since then, she has become the 8th person...

Adam Ginsberg Birthday Reflections

Another year has passed – and what a great year it has been. As I reflect upon the last 12 months is hard to image that the time has come and gone so quickly. So many thoughts, experiences and reflections from activities that have taken place over the last year… It’s hard to believe I’m another year older – I certainly don’t feel any older. The other day I was at my daughters 6th grade track meet. She did great. But as I sat there for three hours in the hot sun (in between my talks with Barry Bonds who was also there to watch his daughter run), I couldn’t help but reflect on the track meet I competed when I was in the 6th grade. It seems like yesterday – I can remember it so clearly.  The 6th grade – what an...

Adam Ginsberg’s Airline Experiences

I get the pleasure of traveling all around the world and meeting some spectacular people in my journey.  And, these days I’ve even taken to twitter my flying experiences.  You can follow me here:  http://twitter.com/adamginsberg However, there’s more to world travel and jet setting than meets the eye.  First, there’s the long lines at the airport.  Yes, most of these are avoided when you check in at first class – but even then, getting to the airport 2 hours early and standing in line – for anything – simply isn’t fun. Then it’s “check in baggage” time.  This is a pain in the ass.  Every airline has different rules and every airline has restrictions different than one another – and some of...

Adam Ginsberg – Use Skype on Your iPhone

Finally, Skype is now available for the iPhone.  Yes, it’s been available using TruePhone and Fling – but it’s best when an application is created by the company that creates that specific software. Skype for the iphone is available as of today, March 31st and works well.  And, as a heavy Skype user, this is great news.  You can send/receive instant messges, make Skype-to-Skype calls from an Wi-Fi zone to other Skype users or call landline (or mobile) phones using Skype’s low rates. To make calls, you’ll have to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, however you can send/receive messages to and from anyone via 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS or EDGE. The Skype application for the iPhone or iPod touch will be available for free from Apple’s App...
