Finally, Skype is now available for the iPhone. Yes, it’s been available using TruePhone and Fling – but it’s best when an application is created by the company that creates that specific software. Skype for the iphone is available as of today, March 31st and works well. And, as a heavy Skype user, this is great news. You can send/receive instant messges, make Skype-to-Skype calls from an Wi-Fi zone to other Skype users or call landline (or mobile) phones using Skype’s low rates. To make calls, you’ll have to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, however you can send/receive messages to and from anyone via 3G, Wi-Fi, GPRS or EDGE. Almost a month ago – 29 days actually – I wrote an article in which I compared the new Blackberry Storm to the Apple 3G iphone. Well, here it is 29 days later. And, after 28 days of hours and hours (I use more than 6000 minutes a month on my phone) I have to make a confession. On the 29th day of my 30 day Blackberry Storm trial period, I’m giving up my Blackberry and returning it to Verizon. Yes, the blackberry is a much better “email tool”.
